Come down for your daily mezcal fix…..”
We are presently running a lunchtime deal in which you can purchase one of our finely wrought Burritos for the knockdown price of £5. It really is better than standing out in the cold on Berwick Market…
To finish off our Halloween extravaganza we partied in true Mexican style with Dia de los Meurtos (Day of the Dead).
As we don’t do things by half at The Pink Chihuahua we celebrated with those elements that are truly at the heart of Mexican culture: music, colour and most importantly Tequila.
We had free festive face painting by yours truly and by the end of the night the room was a sea of skulls and colour. To cover the music we had regular favourites The Cash Cows getting the whole crowd involved and playing all our favourites. And as always at El Camion the (Olmeca Altos) Tequila was flowing with shots, margaritas and El Diablos.
It was a fantastic evening and a great way to finish off our Halloween week.
For all of you that missed it (or had so much fun you can’t quite remember it), this week we had a very special Halloween Pachanga. We decked the place out in ghoulish decorations and the staff dressed up to terrify the customers.
We had two fantastic acts wowing the equally scary crowd who were all dressed up for our costume competition. The first act were a female blues duo called Cosmo House who blew us away with their soulful voices. The second act were our house regulars The Cash Cows who played their usual mix of classics into the early hours. They had the whole audience joining in and as always we were all singing along.
After much deliberation the costume prize finally went to Alex & Alex who came in a hilarious, if not a little risqué, couples costume of Jimmy Saville and Schoolgirl.
We’d like to thank everyone that came along and went to so much effort with their costumes. It was an evening we won’t be forgetting any time soon.
Last night was the Halloween edition of Polly’s Party and we celebrated with true rock’n’roll mayhem
Polly’s dear friend Wanda met an untimely end last week so we turned the night into her wake, celebrating all the good times we’ve had over the past few months. We also welcomed Wanda’s cousin Wandita who is taking her place by Polly’s side. It turned in to a fantastic night as many sang their metal Monday tributes to our departed friend. We were all well and truly warmed up for a week of Halloween fun.
